For the 2 Buttons Jam 2023

Short game with different endings. You have to escape the cave, using only the Z and X keyboard buttons as left and right as you navigate the caves. Don't hit the walls.

(zig zag a lil to speed up)

My first game ever actually finished and published so it's low quality and buggy. And it's very boring.

Programming and art by me, sounds designs with the help of mrgraviel on Discord.

I really liked this concept so I'll be doing a remake soon with better features.

Oh yea and you only get 5 lives. Then it starts over.

Transcript:

"Welcome to Project M.A.D. During this task, you were sent to the Utah Cave Expedition of 2024 to inspect and investigate large amounts of chemosynthetic activity. The project ended abruptly, causing your team to exit all caves and leave you behind. You must escape the cave immediately, avoiding direct contact with the unknown. Try not to crash your machine into the walls of the cave. Sent from Project [inaudible] And Discoveries, good luck."

nice bit of fun.

Amazing game. The gameplay is slow but still very interesting. I especially found the sound design, it helped hugely to make the game more engaging for me.

I really like the soundtrack that give an oppressive atmosphere. The game is slow paced but not boring. It was a pleasure to discover the different endings that remind me Heart of darkness in a way.

The idea and minimal style is good! But the technical implimintation seems clunky and buggy :(

When I first launched the game, it did not respond to button presses.

On the second launch, the buttons worked and I was able to play a little, but at the phrase “Better a little hope than none,” the game froze and nothing else happens, even when pressing the buttons.

It's a good concept and I'd like to play more, but the game needs to be checked for bugs.

After the "better a little hope than none" part, that's when the game ends. Maybe I should've specified that lol😅
Thank you for the criticism and for playing the game in general! In the future, I plan on using different programming tools to implement this idea with a little less bugs and more interesting features hopefully. A remake.
This was inspired by the game Iron Lung at first.
Thanks again for the tips
